So yes the sabres season is done, now what to do about it:

Trade/Cut/Get them outta here
Roy - Ive never really liked Roy, yes he can rack up the points in a season but he just doesnt put in the effort most nights and that pisses me off
Connolly - He shouldnt have even been signed end of story
Rivet - He should have been in the press box most of the year, why did he hide the bum shoulder all year anyways?

Welcome to the Show/Changes
Vanek - Give him the C, plain and simple
Ennis - This kid gave 110% every shift
Gerbe - Hes too little, keep him in portland
Lalime - Look hes a great teammate but we need someone who can win games without having to play once a week or every other week

Lindy/Darcy/Larry
I love Lindy Ruff, great guy, but I think these players need a fresh coach, who? I dont know but I think Lindy and or Darcy need to be shown the door finally. Darcy hasn’t made a good trade in years and it was none more evident than this year with Torres. Yes Darcy has done great in the draft but my god we need a guy whos willing to gamble with players and not fall in love with guys the way this front office does.
Now all things said, this team was decent but should be better. They are gonna need to get to the conference finals/knock out a pitt or washington next year to show they are for real or else if it hasn’t happend already the front office will need to be shipped outta this town.

Whats wrong with the buffalo sabres?

Okay, so the sabres are in free fall headed into the olympic break, here are my thoughts:

-Every year we seem to hear the argument that Ruff has been the coach for too long and that players just block him out, how many years without a cup can we just shrug this argument off? I have zero doubt that what he says goes right through the heads of Roy, Vanek, Connelly and hell even Rivet who hasn’t been here that long.

-Speaking of Roy and Vanek, trade them both. Look you took the chance giving them big deals, its not working, they aren’t leading, they aren’t producing like you hoped, time to dump them.

-Rivet: I never knew why they gave this guy the captain C to begin with, do you even realize hes on the ice most nights?

-Myers: I really worry as we get late into the season that Ruff has over played him. Has he been amazing? Absolutely! But god I worry about him down the stretch.

-Miller: I really really hope his head has just been in the olympic cloud for the past 2-3 weeks. His play over the last few weeks has been a huge drop off from earlier in the year, yes this is partly due to the D showing signs of weakness, and guys like Kennedy playing like all kinds of suck but still, Miller in the shoot out this year has not looked good at all. I really hope the USA goes out quick in Vancouver so that he gets rested and gets his head back in the game for the stretch run.
